Tucked away down a small side street off the Bethnal Green end of Roman Road, The Larder is a good size with some decently sized windows keeping things bright inside. There's also an outside patio area at the back, although I didn't venture out there, it looked to also be a good size with a handful of tables out there. Can't comment on whether the sun hits the patio as it was of course cloudy on my visit. And perhaps bucking a slight trend against laptop dwellers, there was a great long narrow table perfect for individuals tapping away on their keyboards. The wifi details are also well displayed inside.
As standard, I ordered a long black and was asked if I wanted it in a mug or a cup. Wanting to make sure it was strong, I selected a cup. The Larder has selected Union Roast as their bean supplier who appear to becoming bit of a 'de facto' choice for those looking for the step up to gourmet coffee. And with all my visits I made a note of the cost of my long black and The Larder came in as the joint most expensive with Allpress Espresso at £2.70.
